Port-o Lounge brings the essence of modern Portuguese cuisine to Jersey City. Our inspiration is the beautiful city of Porto reflecting its history, beauty, bohemian attitude, and the simplicity of its people that perfectly blends with the Historic Downtown of Jersey City.

Port-o offers an array of tapas, Selected Wines and Ports, and refreshing Sangria’s in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. At nightfall Port-o turns into a hip lounge complemented by house specialty cocktails, and stylish ambience. In the warmer season you can enjoy outdoor dining at our backyard Patio.

What is the Statue?

Fernando Pessoa (1888-1935) was a Portuguese poet, writer and literary critic and described as one of the most significant literary figures of the 20^th century and one of the greatest Portuguese poets. While living in Lisbon, Café A Brasileira is where he was often found enjoying absinthe while continuously smoking, reading or writing. In 1988, the café placed a bronze statue of the poet outside – which is now a photo opp for tourists. Filipe wanted to honor Pessoa at Port-O Lounge and commissioned an artist to create a similar statue.
